Buku dan Quill - Seni Menjahit dan DIY yang Memikat

Crafting

By pressing the Use key (right click by default) while holding a Book and Quill in their hand, the Player will open the book and be able to enter text up to 50 pages long, with up to 256 characters per page (Note that line breaks, such as those created by pressing ↵ Enter , are counted as two characters). No page may be longer than 13 lines and each line can have, on average, 19 characters.

Note that you cannot yet move the cursor while writing into a book, so you cannot go back and fix a typo without deleting what you've written after it.

When signed, a book will have the name of the player who wrote it, or "Player" if signed while playing offline. The title of the book can be up to 16 characters long. Special characters can be used in the title, if typed from a keyboard which has them.

Special codes (coloring)

Text in a book can be styled using codes starting with the § character (section sign), which may be copied and pasted into the book. In Windows, you can type it in a text editor by holding Alt and pressing 0167 or holding alt and pressing 21 on your numpad. It can also be typed using AltGr + ⇧ Shift + s on the US International keyboard, AltGr + o on the Canadian Multilingual Standard keyboard, ⇧ Shift + 3 on all German (QWERTZ) keyboard layouts, ⌥ Opt + 6 on Mac, or varying other shortcuts depending on locale and operating system.

  • § + k creates randomly changing characters.
  • § + l creates bold text.
  • § + m creates text with a strikethrough.
  • § + n creates underlined text.
  • § + o creates italic text.
  • § + 0 – f (hexadecimal) creates colored text. See Formatting Codes.
  • § + r resets any of the previous styles so text after it appears normally.

To use multiple formatting codes, the color code must be used first: it will cancel out all preceding codes. If you use multiple codes, and continue typing past the end of a line, the next line will exhibit only the last formatting code used.

What is a Written Book?

In Minecraft we have Books, Book and Quill and Written Books. Let’s go together through the process that goes from the crafting materials to the Written Book, which is the “final step”.

To craft a Book you will need 1 Leather and 3 Sugar Cane. You can find Leather as loot when you kill Cows, Donkeys, Hoglins, Horses, Llamas, Mooshrooms and Mules.

First you need to turn the Sugar Cane into Paper.

Then you need to craft a Book using the Paper that you just crafted and the Leather.

To craft a Book and Quill you need 1 Book, 1 Feather and 1 Ink Sac. You can get Feathers as loot when you kill Chickens and Parrots (related: How to actually breed Parrots in Minecraft). You can check how to get Ink Sac here.

Once you have the three crafting ingredients, you just need to put them together in the Crafting Table.

You can open a Book and Quill and write whatever you want in it.

This means that you can use it as a diary or to write down something. A Book and Quill becomes very valuable in multiplayer, where it can be part of a complex RPG world or it can be a way to share information with other players.

Using the Book and Quill

The Book and Quill is an interesting item because you can write in it as a journal of sorts or even take notes. You can also write something in it, sign the book, and it will be turned into a written book. Once this occurs, the book can no longer be edited. So, if you wanted to leave some information behind for another player, then utilizing this is a good method. It's also a nice way to add some lore into your story or role-play! There's a whole lot of things you can do with this item that will enrich your next playthrough.

How to make a Book and Quill

To make a Book and Quill in Minecraft, we're going to need paper and leather to create the book. After that, we're going to need to locate an Ink Sac and Feather to turn it into the final product. All of these items require us to find some specific plants or animals, so we'll be doing some exploring around the map!

Step 1: Find the Ingredients for Paper

Paper is a bit tricky to make because we're going to need Sugar Cane. This spawns near water, so you might need to go search for it a bit. Here's an example of what it looks like:

When you find some, make sure to punch it at the bottom because it will fully break and you can collect it quicker. I recommend planting some of this near some water at your base because it grows relatively quickly and you'll have a supply of it always available!

Step 2: Create Paper

Once you've got some Sugar Cane, you can make pieces of paper. You'll need three cane for each piece of paper. We'll need three pieces of paper for each book, so three Sugar Cane will be enough for a single book! Here's the recipe for paper:

You can also find paper in chests, which can be found in Shipwrecks, Strongholds, and Villages. This obviously isn't going to be a steady supply, so you're always better off creating an area to plant Sugar Cane!

Step 3: Find Leather

Leather isn't too hard to find, but you'll need to locate certain animals to get it. What you need to find are cows, mooshrooms, horses, donkeys, mules, llamas, or hoglins. When you kill one of these, you have a chance to get 0 - 2 leather per animal. Alternatively, if you find yourself some rabbits, you can turn four rabbit hide into one leather.
