Untuk membuat roti bawang ini, kamu hanya membutuhkan sebongkah roti dan garlic butter. Rotinya bisa pakai apa saja, biasanya roti keras seperti baguette atau ciabatta. Namun, pakai roti empuk yang adonannya mengandung mentega pun boleh.

Sementara olesannya terbuat dari garlic butter yang merupakan campuran mentega, parutan bawang, dan dedaunan hijau (parsley, dill, atau daun bawang). Roti dipotong sesuai keinginan, kemudian diberi siraman atau olesan garlic butter. Kemudian, dipanggang sebentar sampai keemasan. Boleh tambah keju yang mudah leleh untuk menambah rasa nikmatnya.
